Under the big top.

by senior contributor Brendan Kownacki

On August 15th, Cirque Du Soleil will premiere one of its newest creative productions to the DC area with the opening of TOTEM, under the big top at National Harbor.

TOTEM is an exploration of the evolution of man and looks at the thoughts and influences of the human condition. TOTEM features Cirque's signature acrobatics and high flying fun as well as song and dance the incorporates both native themes and even songs sung in traditional native languages.

Hollywood on the Potomac had a chance to explore the creation of the show with TOTEM Artistic Director Tim Smith who spoke about the creative (and literal) highs and lows of working with Cirque.
