Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was celebrated for her 25 years of service at The Sewall-Belmont House & Museum with a one on one conversation hosted by MSNBC's Rachel Maddow.
She spoke about her experiences and achievements over her career. From 2007 to 2011 she
served as the first woman Speaker of the House and is also the first
woman in American history to lead a major political party in Congress.
This year marks the 25th year Leader Pelosi has represented San
Francisco, California's Eighth District, in the Congress.
Special
remarks were made by Michelle D. Bernard, chairman, founder,
president, and CEO of the Bernard Center for Women, Politics &
Public Policy and a member of the Board of Directors at the National
Women’s History Museum.
