The house was rocking
for all who came knocking at the W Hotel on Thursday night.
The lively
event - which was obviously titled "ROCKED - a night with Mick Rock" was a
special photography exhibit set to the sounds of a live performance
from Fitz and the Tantrums. Also bringing down the house were DJs Rob
Garza and Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation.

The walls around the hotel were studded with iconic
images of all sizes from the British photographer who has provided some
of the most memorable photographs of music legends like David Bowie,
Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbournre, Freddie Mercury and many more. Rock is known
for his long time work with Bowie, but he also shot the images for album
covers by Queen, Lou Reed, Joan Jett and many others.
The packed house full of Washington scenesters
danced and sipped the night away and slowly flooded to the rooftop
P.O.V. bar overlooking the White House as the night wore on. The party
seemed to go on all night...but for someone like Rock who has worked
with some notorious party animals, he probably wouldn't have wanted it
any other way.
