Eggs weren't the only thing blanketing the South Lawn of the White House
on Monday------the estimated 35,000 guests certainly filled the President's
'backyard' gate to gate.
The annual spring tradition is in its 134th year and was themed "Let's
Go, Let's Play, Let's Move" to build on the First Lady's fitness
initiative. Guests were invited to dance, do yoga, run and play and
then settle down for story time from the likes of Elmo, Julianne Moore
or even the First Family--who read "Where the Wild Things Are" to an
excited group of kids.
Sunny skies welcomed the vast sea of revelers as Rachel Crow sang the National Anthem and the First Family shared Easter greetings. The First Lady said she hoped everyone brought "comfortable shoes" for the day's activities, showing off a colorful pair to match her outfit of bright neon colors.
The President blew the official whistle to kick off a few rounds of egg rolling before posing for pictures and shooting some hoops with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Luckily for the First Lady's nutrition program, the hundreds of hard boiled eggs were just for play and not for eating...the games are a little easier to stomach.
