While leaders and top governmental dudes elsewhere are playing it safe by removing their expensive watches while campaigning, Cartier introduced its latest timepiece at the launch party for The Tank Anglaise Watch Collection at The Orangery in London.
Vladimer Putin is said to favor the Swiss watches and in particular Patek Philippe.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy is said to favor the same - Patek Philippe - a gift from his wife Carla Bruni. He was seen whipping it off before addressing a crowd at Paris’s Place de la Concorde while campaigning.
Is Patek Philippe a bad omen? Time will tell, but they may want to park that brand and move on to Cartier.
