Art After Dark

 by contributor Brendan Kownacki

The name said it all with this enigmatic soiree hosted in the garden of the Organization of American States. An eclectic crowd mixed around the dark and imposing courtyard and shared in a variety of art forms, all of which left some asking if the guests themselves were a part of the art.

A shadowy and entertaining band, mysterious installations and the façade of a building that was transformed into one giant project screen helped to curate the fun of this unique experience.  Feeling more like something more akin to Jay Gatsby than the usual DC standard of entertainment, the evening championed free expression and had the mingling mix all asking one another, ‘how do you like your art after dark?’
