On the Shoulders of Giants

We couldn't help but sympathize with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton looking up at Kareem Abdul-Jabbar while being appointed global cultural ambassador .....  you can file that under serious neck strain.

We also had the pleasure of getting neck strain while interviewing the NBA champ not long ago when IMPACT Arts + Film Fund held a private screening of "On the Shoulders of Giants" at E Street Cinema, followed by a private dinner at Lincoln.  

It was there we caught up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who talked to us about his early days with The Harlem Renaissance Big Five, his oft contentious relationship with the press and receiving the Lincoln Award. 

To facilitate eye contact, the interview was conducted with Kareem seated on a stool in a closet ------ the only quiet place in the room, so please excuse a bit of video and light distortion.
