Capitol File magazine helped Smith & Wollensky kick off their upcoming Wine Week (March 5-9) with a chic cocktail hour soiree featuring wine tasting stations, an oyster bar, and chefs carving sumptuous prime rib. Rum was also represented with some of Gosling’s best dark rum, providing some deliciously sweet dark and stormy cocktails for the non-wine drinking guests. 

Next week at Smith & Wollensky diners can sample 10 wines for $10 with a lunch entrée purchase, an offer that would guarantee an afternoon nap for this writer.

For dinner S&W is debuting a new 3 course Prix Fixe Menu with a sampling of 10 wines available for $50. 

Spotted in the crowd was Capitol File’s publisher Sarah Schaffer, Susan G. Komen’s Kiki Ryan, CLS’s Jade Floyd, Corcoran Gallery’s Rachel Cothran and Melanie Kimmelman, Daily Caller’s Brian Danza, Pamela Sorenson, Charles Small, and Dr. Christina Sevilla who told HoP she was getting ready for next week’s Journapooloza with her band Suspicious Package (also featuring party guest Tim Burger!).
 
With tasty wine, good snacks, and fun company it was a great night for Capitol File and Smith & Wollensky!
