It was a dark and stormy night….......so what better time to brighten the evening than with Fashion Takes Flight to benefit Luke’s Wings at Nationals Park?  This may be the biggest ‘win’ that venue sees all year.

Luke’s Wings’ fourth annual runway fundraiser showed off some of the District's finest threads modeled by our servicemen and women - all made possible by the Kazi Investment Group.

Models from both the military and professional fashion world displayed some of DC’s finest designers amidst the background of Nationals Park—a venue pressed into off season socializing for a cause.

Hosts Fletcher Gill and Lindsay Kin of Luke’s wings - as well as their partners, supporters and volunteers - presented an evening that had supporters enjoying Peroni beer, specialty cocktails by Van Gogh, imports crafted specifically for Fashion Takes Flight and ‘stadium’ hors d’oeuvres including mini burgers and dogs, pretzel bites, crab cakes and sliders, as they mixed and mingled among DC’s most fashionable, in one of the most unique venues in our nation's capital.

The event is the result of careful planning from organizers Nichole Devolites and Kristen Murdock who revved up the crowd for the evening which was was overseen by DC’s premiere event planner Charlotte Jarrett, an Annapolis native now among the top event planners in the DC Metro area.  Special guests included Deejay Neekola and Let’s Talk Live’s Natasha Barrett as MC.

On the runway:  Styling by PR@Partners;  Megan Riddle Make-Up, Blend and the collections of some of the best local fashion talent DC has to offer including Ella Rue, Walish Gooshe, Nam Nyugen, Streets of Georgetown, and Donovan England.

After an amazing evening of supporting our wounded warriors overlooking the baseball field from the Stars and Stripes VIP Lounge, guests were invited to Lincoln for an Americana after party.

Luke’s Wings is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of service members who have been wounded while fighting for our country.
