How big is your Roladex?

If you happen to be the Ambassador of Kuwait, the Rolodex is monumental.

Sheikh Salem Al-Sabah and wife Rima took over the ballroom of The Four Seasons, as they usually do, for the Anniversary of the National Day of the State of Kuwait, this year is the 51st Anniversary.

The larger than life couple are masters of the social scene since arriving here in 2001, so it's not a stretch to rub shoulders with Michael Douglas, Sandra Day O'Conner, Ben Afflect or Bill and Hillary Clinton at their residence.

Turning heads at the National Day party were Ann and Lloyd Hand, Catherine and Wayne Reynolds, UAE Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of Egypt Sameh Shoukry and his wife Suzy, Amb. Zalmay Khalilzad - United States Ambassador to Afghanistan, Amb. John Negroponte, Debra Lee, CEO of B.E.T., The Hon. Judge William Webster, Gail Huff (Mrs. Scott Brown), Tandy and Wyatt Dickerson, Arnaud and Alexandra de Borchgrave, Terry McAuliffe, Wayne and Lea Berman and Adrienne Arsht.

To steal a line from The New Republic:  "Once, at a benefit that Al-Sabah was hosting for an Iraqi children’s hospital, emcee Charlie Rose surveyed the room and said, “This leaves me wondering, just who is having dinner with the president?”
