Are you a winner or a loser?

A winner or loser in a G-Zero world that is.

As Ian Bremmer, author of "Every Nation for Itself", puts it: "If you're swimming and there's a shark, you don't have to outrun the shark, you just have to out swim you're sister."   yikes.

Or to put it another way:  "If you're a camper with other campers, you're being chased by a bear, you don't have to outrun the bear, you have to outrun other campers." yikes.

Bremmer was the guest of honor at a book party at the home of Juleanna Glover and Christopher Reiter where he explained the consequences of a G-Zero world.  Now, if you think that is complicated, well.....it is.

Guests played "Risk" in the living room.......beats out-swimming your sister...

There was a sigh of relief in the crowd, as there always is at these kinds of parties, when he said he was only going to speak for two minutes.  With sushi on your left and chocolate cake to the right, it was a bit hard though trying to concentrate going into the fourth minute ...........until, that is, he probably encapsulated an entire economic summit into fourteen minutes.....and, no one minded a bit.

Christina Sevilla chats it up with Bremmer

For that reason, rather than cut the video down to the usual 2-3 minutes, we thought you might find the course rather useful.

So, here it is.  ... his speech in its entirety. .... sharks and the bears included:
