Mamie's Mile is a one-mile walk/run to benefit The National Down Syndrome Society which took place in the Spring Valley neighborhood this year.
"Having a child with Down syndrome isn’t a curse; it is, as many parents will tell you, a blessing." Elizabeth Manresa who lost her daughter Mamie Grace after heart surgery.
Along with her husband Teddy Eynon they
have chosen to raise money for NDSS and work everyday to not only
improve the lives of people with Down syndrome but also educate those
who don’t yet see how amazing these people can be.
Participants enjoyed face painting, photo booths, carnival games, DJ Feeze and sidewalk chalk.
