Philanthropic Fun

by contributor Brendan Kownacki

The idea just seemed to make sense when the team from the K Street classic Teatro Goldoni got together and decided they wanted to spice up their Wednesday nights. A recurring party seemed too simple and not enough to entice people out on hump-day as the weekend approached......so why not throw in some social good?

And Philanthropia was born.

Each Wednesday in the newly remodeled lounge and restaurant the plan is to bring in great DJs, have bottles popping and support great charities by donating a portion of the proceeds from each soiree to a selected cause.

To launch the new program, Teatro drew in an excitable bunch who partied until the wee hours in support of CINOT, The James Michael Foundation.  CINOT (Children in Need of Treatment)
was established upon the death of Dr. James Michael who was a child clinical psychologist passionate about helping families and children.  The foundation bearing his name was created to raise and provide funds for children who can't afford proper psychological treatment.

As far as dancing for a good cause goes, this was top notch. Time to set aside Wednesday on the calendar.
