A sweet night....

Young Washington professionals gathered Tuesday night at One Lounge for the 2nd Annual Cupcakes & Cocktails event benefitting The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. 

 
Guests joined ABC 7's Natasha Barrett, Alison Starling, Leon Harris and the ever endearing Arch Campbell as well as Fox 5's Steve Chenevey, WUSA 9's Anita Brikman and NBC 4's John Schriffen who judged the cupcake competition from diverse bakeries.

“I’m very grateful to welcome this great mixture of young professionals this evening.  I hope this event will be successful and raise money for the foundation,” said host Mercy Fritter.  “It’s a typical event in Washington.  Foundations use this kind of event to get money for their charity,” said Sherry Moeller, co-founder and principal of MoKi Media.

The winning bakeries included: Top Cupcake - Small: b+l bakehouse; Top Cupcake - Large: Chatman's D'Vine Bakery & Cafe; Prettiest Pastry: CakeLove; Fanciful Flavor: Batter Up; Tastiest Topping: Red Velvet Cupcakery; Totally on Topic: Divinely Decadent Desserts; and Give Me Seconds: Heller's Bakery.  Guests had a hand in voting with b+l bakehouse taking home the People's Choice award.  Sweet!
