On Saturday some of DC’s chicest tots and their equally stylish parents joined NBC4’s Angie Goff at Kidville in Bethesda for a fun morning of playing, crafting, dancing, singing, and snacking.

Spotted in the fully padded gym complete with a foam pit were Bret and Amy Baier’s little one Paul, WUSA9’s Mike Hydeck’s kids Patrick and Molly making their way from the balance bars to the mini soccer area, and former Redskins cheerleader Melanie Coburn’s two year old Dexter headed up one of the foam mountains.  Babies were represented as well with HoP favorite, Jayne Sandman’s little guy Owen Dufour crawling around while his crush, Angie Goff’s pigtailed cutie Adora, zoomed by in a fun purple dress.

Across the hall in the arts and crafts room, Kidville’s staff was ready. Armed with miles of puffy stickers and cardboard-covered photo albums, little ones like Alice Tapper (daughter of ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper and Jennifer Tapper) and Capitol File publisher Kate Bennett’s daughter Tess made Valentine’s Day themed photo albums for their parents.

As every parent knows, a busy kid needs fuel to keep going.  Before rocking out to Kidville’s official house band, The Rockin’ Railroad, everyone took a break to munch on Bethesda Bagels with different schmeers, Georgetown cupcakes, tons of juice boxes, and from Vienna, VA’s Bombay Tandoor, the most amazing chicken.

Spotted enjoying the treats were NBC4’s Eun Yang’s sweet little boy and girl and Meet the Press’ Ilana Drimmer’s kids Julia and Jake who couldn’t wait to finish their bagels so they could move on to the cupcakes.

Then, it was finally time for everyone to take a trip on the Rockin’ Railroad. This four piece band, all clad in Kidville’s signature orange tees, wowed kids and parents alike with their Motown-themed sing-a-longs with performances of the Jackson 5 Classic “I Want You Back” and other oldies like “Locomotion” and “I’m a Believer” that had all the kids up and grooving.

There was even a visit from the band’s puppets Izzy and Grandma and a grand finale that featured bubbles as far as the eye could see!

Judging by the sleepy kids being carried out by grateful parents certain that nap time wouldn’t be a problem, Kidville’s owner Anjali Varma knew she had a hit on her hands.
