Piers Morgan vs. Madonna...the back story....

"Well, it's safe to say that Piers Morgan won't be first in line for tickets to Madonna's just-announced world tour. 

The pontificating Brit continued his public assault on America's long-reigning Material Girl while chatting with E!'s own Chelsea Handler last night, blasting Madonna's Super Bowl halftime show as a "gruesome" performance." E Online

When Sir Gordon Brown came to town, Piers was also a guest of honor at The Jefferson. 

Here's what he had to say about Madonna then.

"The evening ended on a lighter note with the arrival of Piers Morgan.  He dished to Niteside about why Madonna would not be among his primed choice of guests:  “There’s no point”, he joked.  “Lady Gaga’s arrived. so why have the old one. 

We need a new model.  Madonna and I go back a long way and not very satisfactory really. I am kind of banning her before she refuses to come on.”  It’s a chicken and egg situation, he explained and doesn’t want to test it.  “I’d rather be the chicken.”
