"The performers include opera singer Anna Christy; musical duo The Civil Wars; R&B icon Bettye LaVette; "Glee"and Broadway actor and singer Matthew Morrison and Ford's Theatre's 1776 cast members Robert Cuccioli, Bobby Smith and others............ so of course you can expect anything from today’s show”.
While 10th and F Street was lined with hundreds of people waiting to see the stars, the celebrities paraded on the red carpet for an evening of art at the Ford’s Theatre, a night of art that remembers and commemorates the enduring light that Lincoln’s life and presidency provides to The United States.

Fans of Lincoln didn’t hesitate to comment about the admiration that they still have regarding President Lincoln's life. Matthew Morrison declared himself a huge fan of The President that was shot on April 14, 1865, at Ford’s Theatre.

The Annual Gala benefits the nonprofit Ford's Theatre Society and its theatrical programming, plus exhibits at the new Ford's Theatre Center for Education and Leadership which opened in February 2012.
