Susan G. Komen’s  Global Ambassador Actress Gabrielle Union ("Think Like a Man") led a dedicated crowd on a run starting just below the Washington Monument.

Union, who lost a close friend at the age of 36 to Stage Four breast cancer, has been a longtime partner with Komen in the fight against breast cancer.

In 2010 Union, understanding the link between access to health care and the rising rates of breast cancer mortality in minority women, in April 2012 penned an op-ed that served as a plea to Congress and the public to spare the Affordable Care Act.

She has participated in several Race for the Cure events and was an award presenter at the 2010 Honoring the Promise gala and traveled with the Komen group to Ghana in 2008 to meet with young survivors.

So, how did the participants do on the run?
